Because we don't mass-produce. Each piece is cut and sewn by hand in our studio, from rescued materials that will never exist again: a vintage tapestry, denim with twenty years of life, a found lace. That combination can't be repeated, so when a piece sells there is no restock. It isn't artificial scarcity; it's the nature of working with what already exists.

We work in limited drops of 1 to 7 numbered, named pieces. The pace is set by the process: finding materials, sanitizing, deconstructing, and rebuilding them by hand takes weeks, and we won't rush that at the cost of quality. Join the newsletter for early access before each release.

Sizes vary from piece to piece. Sometimes the size is set by the rescued material itself: we work within the dimensions the original garment allows. On each piece's page, next to the size, you'll find the Size guide: its exact measurements (bust, waist, length and how much it gives) or, if they aren't published yet, a way to ask us for them. Unsure about fit? Email hola@rena.studio before buying: we know every piece by heart.

The measurements in the Size guide belong to the piece, taken on the garment, not on a body. The safest way to compare:

• Pick a garment of yours that fits well, of the same kind: a corset, a fitted top, a jacket.
• Measure it at the same points with a tape measure: bust and waist around the garment, length from the highest to the lowest point, shoulders from seam to seam and sleeve from shoulder to cuff.
• Compare with the piece. If the guide lists a fit allowance (lacing, for example), the piece can give that many centimeters.

We walk Mexico City looking for garments and textiles with potential: silk, wool, linen, denim, gabardine, high-end nylon. We look for materials that deserve a second chance, fabrics that show their age and turn it into character. Everything is sanitized and cleaned before being deconstructed and rebuilt in the studio.

We ship throughout Mexico. Each piece is prepared and packed by hand in the studio, not in a warehouse.

• Cost: $99 MXN anywhere in Mexico.
• Mexico City: 1 to 2 business days.
• Rest of Mexico: 3 to 5 business days.

Yes, and returns are free. Every piece is one of a kind, so there are no size exchanges. Here are your options:

• If the piece isn't for you: email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll send you a prepaid return label, free of charge. We'll refund the full price of the piece or, if you prefer, give you store credit for its value, valid for 12 months. Original shipping is not refunded. The piece must come back unworn, with tags and in its packaging.
• Manufacturing defects: email us within 30 days of delivery, with photos. We cover return shipping and offer a repair or a full refund, including original shipping, whichever you prefer.
• Right of withdrawal: under Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law, you can cancel your purchase within 5 business days of delivery and get the price you paid refunded, including shipping.

A piece made by hand from rescued materials asks a little more care than mass-produced clothing, and repays it in years of life. Each piece comes with instructions for its specific materials; as a rule: hand wash or dry clean, cold water, dry in the shade. The natural wear of rescued fabrics isn't a flaw: it's part of their story.
